Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect & How We Use It

Household Administrators: When you create a Household, we collect your email address and verify it via a six-digit code. This email is strictly used for account authentication (sending magic sign-in links) and, only with your explicit consent, occasional product updates. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time via the one-click unsubscribe link without affecting transactional account emails.

Household Members & Minors: Other members within a Household—including children—are identified solely by a display name and an emoji. We do not request, collect, or store email addresses or personal identifiers for non-admin members or minors.

User-Generated Content: We store chores, pots, reward progress, and activity logs to ensure real-time synchronization across all devices in your Household.

Device Data & Authentication: We log active device sessions to keep you signed in. You can review active devices and revoke session access at any time via the Household tab.

Push Notifications: If you enable push notifications, we store the device token provided by your operating system to deliver alerts. Notification tokens are permanently purged upon Household deletion.

2. Payment Processing

Web Subscriptions: Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We share only the Household administrator's email address and internal Household ID with Stripe to facilitate transaction management.

In-App Purchases (App Store & Google Play): Mobile subscriptions are processed directly by Apple or Google. We utilize RevenueCat to validate subscription status, passing only an anonymized Household ID. Chore Pot does not collect, process, or store payment card details or purchaser identities for mobile transactions.

3. Data Tracking & Third-Party Analytics

We do not track you. Chore Pot contains zero third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking scripts.

4. Infrastructure & Service Providers

To deliver the service, we rely on trusted infrastructure providers bound by strict data processing standards:

  • Hosting & Storage: Cloudflare (application hosting and database infrastructure)
  • Transactional Email: Resend (delivery of sign-in links and system emails)
  • Payment Processors: Stripe, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Household Deletion: The Household administrator may permanently delete the Household at any time via the Household tab. Deletion immediately and irrevocably erases all associated members, chores, reward data, device sessions, notification tokens, and the administrator's email address.

Individual Member Removal: Authorized adult members may remove individual members from a Household at any time, removing their display name and profile data.
